This just in from Amanda:
"I've been watching Devlin Peck's YouTube channel lately. He has videos on all things instructional design—from the more technical aspects, to portfolio reviews, to how to interview. I wanted to share this video in part because it resonates with Taylor and Ayla's posts!
It walks through the process of creating e-learning, including action mapping and storyboarding, and how the ID might interact with stakeholders at these various stages. But what struck me is how the projects he reviews are heavily story-based—one even features a 'mentor character' that guides or serves as a resource to the learner throughout the e-learning. He also mentions creating 'moments of delight' in your e-learning—a fun animation or something like that—that doesn't distract from the point of the training, but produces a small moment of joy or surprise for the learner."
