"SlidesCarnival" Tool

Nyl reports about a new tool, here, that can enhance presentations, stating:

"Much as I would like to leave slideshows behind, it is still an important part of Instructional Design work. Whether you're creating a mockup or assembling a client presentation, PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides will always be an important tool on your belt.

I came across an awesome resource a while back and it has been my savior for many a hurried client presentations (and even a handful of homework for this course!). There are many reasons to use SlidesCarnival but here are my top 3:

  1. It's pretty. They focus on quality, not quantity so you won't see more than 50 templates at a time. This means that the templates are expertly curated so you're not wasting your time with crappy stuff.
  2. It's free. You just can't beat a price-point that doesn't exist. There is a Credits slide you can leave on to properly attribute design, images, and fonts.
  3. It works. The layouts are very thoughtful - there are options for one, two, or three columns. There are layouts for big images, small images, charts, facts and figures, even quotes.
My current favorite is called 'Dion' (example shown) - t's a template that uses world maps and traveling images as a backdrop."
