Building Courses from Curated Content

Here's a submission from Laura regarding curated content.
"I just read Connie Malamed's article called "Building Courses from Curated Content" since we are looking at the topic of 'who produces the content' this week in class. I learned that 'Content Curation' is a whole sub-field of e-Learning! (A link to Connie's site, 'the eLearning Coach' is on the right-hand side of this blog).
I find this to be a fascinating trend in e-learning. We are already experiencing it in this class in that our instructor has curated relevant articles and other media for us, has organized it, and has expanded on the content with his own expertise and commentary. Now, we students are adding to it by participating in a wiki and this blog!
Content curation does require some time and effort to review the materials and make sure it is valuable, accurate and relevant, but there are tools that can help such as RSS feeds, search engines, and hashtags, to name a few. As instructional designers, we can tap into the vast amount of information available on the internet to create a dynamic learning experience."
