Rubrics, Online Courses, and Workshops

Here is information from Charmaine about two resource-rich organizations. She states,

"As an online educator, I recently sought out guidelines for creating online courses and teaching online. I found 2 organizations that provide rubrics and courses for the online teaching environment for organizations and teachers.

Quality Matters. Paid membership for K-12, Higher Education, and Individuals, this organization provides rubrics and workshops for implementing QM Standards into Course. It offers Online Teaching Certification for individuals and Reviewer roles for organizations. While geared towards faculty, it is also for instructional designers.

Online Learning Consortium. Many paid membership options, but also includes a free option, and offers both professional and institutional memberships. This organization provides scorecards and courses/workshops for implementing scorecards into course and organization. Multiple scorecards are available for free for every aspect of online learning, such as online student support, digital courseware, blended learning, course design, teaching and instruction, and administration of online programs. It also offers certifications in online teaching and instructional design for faculty and instructional designers."
