Teaching English Abroad

Here's a new post from Jaki regarding TEFL (Teaching  English as a Foreign Language). She explains,

"I came to Instructional Design from the teaching world, and specifically from TEFL. At my previous job, we were expected to come up with curriculum that involved multimedia (powerpoint slides, video, audio, interactive powerpoint games, in-class worksheets, children's podcasts for enrichment outside of the classroom) as well as meeting school and province objectives and assessments.

This listicle has a lot of great places to look for exercises and supportive media that match your objectives and align with your learning goals. Once you have developed your course outline, it's far easier to find materials that you can use. I know many teachers who would do the opposite (building a lesson or a curriculum around the various "games" they can play), but if you're trying to create a course grounded in research and theory that is also fun, it's best to go the other way."
