Minimalism in Tech Writing and e-Learning

Theresa offers up an interesting perspective on 'minimalism' in e-Learning:
"Minimalism principles are my guiding light as a technical writer, and I find they align closely with principles of eLearning.
Read more about minimalism in a technical communication context here.
Minimalism in technical communication is about paring the content down to as few words as possible, making sure the content is relevant to the user, and clearly making the connection between the content and the job/tasks the user needs to perform. In other words, 'What will help this person get out of the office by 5 PM?'
Creating eLearning content should follow the same guidelines, with technical documentation as a supplement. What is the crucial information that shows a learner how to perform a task? And, why are they are performing that task? For more conceptual and abstract information, how does it relate to the task at hand?"
