Death by PowerPoint

Dina submitted the following regarding our beloved PowerPoint!

"As most of us begin our careers as Instructional Designers (IDs), we often do not have authoring software available to start out.  Instead, we are tasked with using the tools the company has available to build content.  This usually means Microsoft PowerPoint.  PowerPoint has some great capabilities, (motion, effects, transitions, a.k.a. 'bells and whistles'), that give IDs many options for creating captivating, informative and engaging content.  However, in the wrong hands PowerPoint presentations can be boring, tedious and downright painful for the learner to sit through.
Here's a link to a tongue-in-cheek look at building PowerPoint presentations to avoid, 'Death by PowerPoint.'  The concepts presented apply to presentations built in PowerPoint or any software, whether for a meeting, instructor led training or e-learning.  As you watch, think about your presentations and how you can avoid some of these pitfalls designers often fall into."
