Upskilling the UK School Workforce

"This article discusses the lack of teachers in the schools in the U.K and how schools have been heavily reliant on supply teachers. The only problem is that many of these supply teachers often do not have current skills and qualifications that a full-time teacher would have, so they often go into a classroom without knowing how students learn and strategies of how to engage students in this day and age. Schools offer continuous education programs but many of these supply teachers do not attend due to location and duration of these courses. 

Therefore, TeachingCPD was created.  It is a 'on demand' e-Learning portal developed to provide just in time training to supply teachers so that they can meet their development needs on any device at any time. The article walks through the challenges TeachingCPD went through when choosing the right authoring tool while taking into consideration costs, compatibility with PC and Mac, graphics, user interface, etc."
